# MGold211 EA (Website Page)

### Zess.AI Premium MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisors

At Zess.AI, we're all about building a team of automated traders working for you 24/7.

Alongside Zess Agentic AI Traders, we also use MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisors (EAs) — automated, rules-based trading systems that can become part of your trading team.

### MGold211 EA

MGold211 is an automated MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor designed specifically to trade Gold (XAUUSD).

A MetaTrader 5 Expert Advisor (EA) is a trading program that follows a predefined strategy and can automatically identify trading opportunities, open positions and manage trades without requiring the trader to manually execute each trade.

### What Is a MetaTrader 5 Backtest?

A backtest uses historical market data to simulate how an EA would have performed in the past. Backtesting can help you understand how a strategy has historically behaved, including its profitability, drawdowns, win rate and performance across different market conditions. It is important to remember that a backtest is a simulation. It is not actual trading performance and does not predict future results.

### Why We Show Results From Multiple Brokers

The same EA can produce different results with different brokers because of differences in historical price data, spreads, commissions, symbol specifications and trading conditions. For transparency, the results below show MGold211 tested using historical data from both Pepperstone and XM over exactly the same testing periods. This allows the performance of the EA to be compared across two different broker datasets rather than relying on the results from a single broker.

We strongly recommend that you backtest MGold211 using your own broker's MT5 data before trading on a live account.

### MGold211 EA Backtest Performance

The tables below compare MGold211 EA Version B7 using historical data from Pepperstone and XM.

For each comparison, the testing dates, starting balance, leverage, timeframe and risk per trade are kept the same.

**Starting Balance:** $1,000\
**Leverage:** 1:1000\
**Timeframe:** M15\
**EA Version:** MGold211

### 1-Year Backtest — 2% Risk Per Trade

**Test Period: 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026**

The first test uses a **2% risk per trade** setting and provides a recent one-year benchmark across both brokers.

| **Metric** | **Pepperstone** | **XM Global** |
| ------------------------ | --------------- | -------------- |
| **Net Profit** | **$14,361.55** | **$16,306.98** |
| **Ending Balance** | **$15,361.55** | **$17,306.98** |
| **Profit Factor** | **1.83** | **1.89** |
| **Sharpe Ratio** | **3.84** | **4.43** |
| **Recovery Factor** | **3.21** | **5.02** |
| **Max Balance Drawdown** | **18.92%** | **20.88%** |
| **Max Equity Drawdown** | **36.37%** | **29.36%** |
| **Total Trades** | 326 | 300 |
| **Winning Trades** | 32.52% | 35.33% |
| **History Quality** | 100% | 100% |

MGold211 produced a positive backtest result on both broker datasets during the same one-year period. Despite differences in the historical data and number of trades, the Profit Factor remained relatively consistent at **1.83 on Pepperstone and 1.89 on XM**.

### 1-Year Backtest — 5% Risk Per Trade

**Test Period: 1 July 2025 – 30 June 2026**

The second test uses the **same one-year period**, but increases the risk per trade from 2% to **5%**. This demonstrates how increasing the amount of capital risked on each trade can significantly increase both potential returns and account drawdown.

| **Metric** | **Pepperstone** | **XM Global** |
| ------------------------ | --------------- | --------------- |
| **Net Profit** | **$30,696.45** | **$397,824.54** |
| **Ending Balance** | **$31,696.45** | **$398,824.54** |
| **Profit Factor** | **1.49** | **1.69** |
| **Sharpe Ratio** | **2.54** | **3.64** |
| **Recovery Factor** | **2.44** | **2.12** |
| **Max Balance Drawdown** | **44.68%** | **51.13%** |
| **Max Equity Drawdown** | **62.95%** | **64.64%** |
| **Total Trades** | 248 | 300 |
| **Winning Trades** | 31.85% | 35.33% |
| **History Quality** | 100% | 100% |

The 5% risk setting produced substantially higher simulated returns, particularly in the XM backtest, but this came with a significant increase in drawdown. Maximum equity drawdown increased to **62.95% on Pepperstone and 64.64% on XM**.

The Pepperstone test also completed fewer trades at 5% risk than at 2% risk, showing that increasing risk does not simply scale the results of every backtest proportionally. These results demonstrate the trade-off between **higher risk, higher potential return and larger account drawdowns**.

### 5-Year Backtest — 2% Risk Per Trade

**Test Period: 1 July 2021 – 30 June 2026**

The five-year backtest extends the testing period to examine how MGold211 performed across a much wider range of Gold market conditions. The risk remains at **2% per trade**.

| **Metric** | **Pepperstone** | **XM Global** |
| ------------------------ | --------------- | --------------- |
| **Net Profit** | **$85,267.30** | **$196,925.11** |
| **Ending Balance** | **$86,267.30** | **$197,925.11** |
| **Profit Factor** | **1.73** | **1.79** |
| **Sharpe Ratio** | **1.49** | **1.70** |
| **Recovery Factor** | **3.80** | **5.05** |
| **Max Balance Drawdown** | **67.37%** | **56.98%** |
| **Max Equity Drawdown** | **68.17%** | **57.92%** |
| **Total Trades** | 1,406 | 1,335 |
| **Winning Trades** | 25.68% | 31.09% |
| **History Quality** | 98% | 99% |

The five-year tests show that MGold211 remained profitable in both historical broker datasets throughout the full testing period. They also demonstrate that longer testing periods can expose periods of substantially greater drawdown than may be visible in a shorter one-year test. The differences between the Pepperstone and XM results further illustrate why EA performance should be tested across different broker data and why users should perform their own backtests before live trading.

### Important Risk Information

{% hint style="warning" %}
Backtest results are hypothetical and based on historical market data. They do not represent actual trading results and are not a guarantee or prediction of future performance. Risking 2% or 5% per trade does not mean that total account drawdown is limited to that percentage. A sequence of losing trades, simultaneous positions and changing market conditions can result in significantly larger cumulative drawdowns.

Increasing risk per trade can substantially increase both potential returns and potential losses. Live trading results may differ from backtest results due to spreads, slippage, commissions, execution, liquidity, broker specifications and changing market conditions.

We recommend performing your own backtesting using your broker's MT5 historical data and carefully considering the level of risk appropriate for your circumstances before using an EA on a live trading account.
